DAW handoff

Import the MIDI with the evidence visible.

MotifPilot exports Standard MIDI, not audio or a DAW session. This matrix separates a vendor's documented format support from a recorded end-to-end MotifPilot test.

Recommended workflow

Five checks after the share sheet.

  1. Save or send the ZIP package from iOS, then extract it before importing.
  2. Set the DAW project tempo to the BPM recorded in DAW-Import-Guide.txt.
  3. Import the combined starter.mid for the whole sketch, or import the chord, bass, arp, and melody files onto separate MIDI tracks.
  4. Assign instruments—the MIDI contains note and timing data, not MotifPilot's preview sound.
  5. Check bar one, tempo, key, clip length, and track separation before arranging.

First-party export proof

Inspect a real 1.1.0 export.

This deterministic A minor, 102 BPM example was generated and packaged by the shipping iOS generation and export clients in a simulator test. It is not a hand-authored MIDI mock.

  • Format 1 Standard MIDI, 480 PPQ, conductor plus four musical tracks
  • ZIP with starter, four track files, and the plain-text DAW import guide
  • SHA-256, byte sizes, settings, and provenance recorded in a public manifest

Compatibility matrix

Documented support is not a hidden test claim.

Known limit

No universal DAW guarantee.

Import behavior can change with the DAW version, platform, destination track, and chosen plugin. A row becomes “manually verified” only after the exact MotifPilot version and workflow are recorded.
